Collection Overview

The Stony Brook University Library Club was a campus club comprised of undergraduates, graduates, and alumni members of SUNY - Stony Brook who worked together over the span of four years to draw attention to the fun, alluring side of information literacy and the academic library environment.  Among other things, the group of dedicated members produced youtube tutorials highlighting assets of the University Libraries, organized several all campus events honoring such occasions as Women's History Month and Halloween, and raised a large sum of money to send hundreds of pounds of books to libraries in need in Africa.  Friendships were formed, academic advocacy was successfully sought, and several bits of highly important pieces of literature were hastily written to chronicle our adventures.  In addition to these documents, a highly popular blog was regularly updated by LC members, providing useful web and book reviews, as well as articles on pressing sociological issues and pop culture.
